Bridge Egg Sharing Programme

Crete Fertility Centre, Heraklion, Crete

This is an egg sharing programme, meaning that the donors are women who are in need of IVF treatment themselves and are donating half of their eggs to infertile couples in exchange for reduced price IVF treatment. The Crete Fertility Centre has a number of women waiting to take part in this programme which involves fresh embryo transfer. Most of the treatment will take place at Bridge and you and your partner will have to travel to Crete for a period of approximately one week. In this period your partner will produce a semen sample and your embryo transfer will be performed.

Treatment on the International Egg Sharing programme can take place within 3-4 months
Full details of this programme are available from the Bridge Admissions team. Call 020 7089 1449 for a full information pack.

Do you need a visa for Crete?

For most patients, visas will not be an issue, irrespective of the treatment location you choose.
However, it is increasingly the case that citizens of certain countries are finding visas increasingly difficult to obtain.

If you believe that you might encounter visa problems our advice is 'do not apply' to encounter difficulties and be 'flagged' by the authorities.

We can assist with visas and details are available from the Egg Donation Team.
  • Do you consider yourself to have a disability? If yes, please describe how this might affect your attendance for a consultation or treatment at Bridge. Due to internal structural constraints we may ask wheelchair users to transfer to a lightweight wheelchair.

The Bridge Centre is licensed by the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority to perform IVF, microsurgical fertilisations and treatments using donated eggs and sperm, to perform Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Screening and to store genetic material.
